Journalists from Dushanbe went to the "Roof of the World" together with Tcell

In the city of Khorog, from July 27 to 29, an ethnic-festival "The Roof of the World" was held - an annual music festival that gathers guests from all over Tajikistan, as well as near and far abroad, performing national live music. This year, the company Tcell was an official partner of the festival.

 

Tcell invited journalists from Dushanbe, representing newspapers, news and media agencies, online publications, and radio. Journalists, along with company representatives, went on a tour of the Pamir tract, exploring the culture and traditions of cities and towns along the way.

In Kulyab, journalists visited the Mir Sayyid Ali Hamadoni memorial complex, a poet, philosopher and thinker of the 14th century. In Darvaz - "Gates" of Gorno-Badakhshan, a photo session was held and a walk through the picturesque places. "Kohi Bonvon," built recently - a specialized training and production center exclusively for women, impressed the participants of the tour.

 

Near Khorog, journalists visited the highest altitude botanical garden in the CIS, where more than 4 thousand species of plants, trees, and bushes are collected from almost all countries of the world. Here, next to the Botanical Gardens, there is also a base station of Tcell, which provides reliable communication of the residents of the region.

 

Moreover, the culmination of the whole tour was the participation of journalists in the opening ceremony of the "Roof of the World" festival. The ethnic-festival "Roof of the World" has been held in Khorog since 2008. This incredible immersion in the living traditions of some of the most ancient peoples of the world! Tcell has been a partner of the festival for several recent years, supporting the cultural development of the society.

The festival pursues the goal of exchanging cultures and preserving the cultural traditions of different peoples. This year guests were from the USA, Afghanistan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan and all regions of Tajikistan presented their art at the festival! For the first time at the festival, a musical team from Uzbekistan also appeared, who was greeted with applause.

Here journalists could shoot a video for their publications, gather information, talk with international guests of the festival and conduct live broadcasts.

"I'm delighted with our trip! I always wanted to visit the Pamirs, but it seemed unmanageable to me. However, thanks to the press tour, organized by Tcell, my dream came true. We had a chance to drive along the Pamir highway, see the beauties of precious Tajikistan, meet wonderful people and visit the new event ethnic-festival Roof of the World 2018. I think it's not just possible to travel around our country, but it's necessary! "- says the participant of the tour, Zulfiya Golubeva.

 

Throughout the trip, the participants of the tour completely immersed themselves in the world of culture and traditions of different regions: they tasted the unique food, received national souvenirs as a gift, danced to folk music. The journalists shared their emotions online, on their pages in social networks, thanks to reliable communication from Tcell. The participant of the tour, Faridun Khairullozoda, shares the following: "I am proud that for the first time in my life,  I went to one of the most beautiful and mountainous places in Tajikistan - GBAO, live where everyone should visit. Altitude of 2400 meters from sea level, the conquest of the summit, where the company's base station is located, is unforgettable emotions and feelings. It was three days full of emotions, music, festival, and joy ".

 

Most journalists who went on a press tour to the "Roof of the World" first visited Gorny Badakhshan. Traveling around your native country, you realize the uniqueness of the regions of Tajikistan. You understand how people care about their traditions, being friendly and open to all the visitors. Tcell is planning further cultural tours to even more remote regions of Tajikistan.
