On January 29, the city of Almaty hosted the opening of the 28th World Winter Universiade. Tajikistan's national team at the Universiade is represented by three athletes, who will participate in competitions in Alpine skiing. Tcell supported the team with a free connection to home and sports uniforms.

Universiade - is an international sports competition among students, which is held every two years in the summer and winter sports. Competition, which began on Sunday, will last until 8 February. Kcell, Tcell's sister company in Kazakhstan is the official communications partner of the Universiade.

2000 athletes from 55 countries, aged 17 to 28 years old are attending the competition. Athletes will be competing in 12 sports within the framework of the 28th World Winter Universiade: biathlon, alpine skiing, curling, speed skating, Nordic combined, cross-country skiing, ski jumping, snowboarding, figure skating, freestyle skiing, ice hockey and short track.

All three athletes representing Tajikistan will participate in Alpine skiing competitions, which will be held on February 4th and 7th.  Mindaugas Ubartas, Tcell CEO, congratulated athletes with the participation and wished them victory before their departure for the competition. Sports uniforms and SIM cards with the connection to home were handed over.
